We received a call this morning for emergency water restoration in Charlotte because of a broken water line in the wall of the customer home in the NODA area of Charlotte. Like many older homes in the area this house is a fixer upper. The customer stated they purchased the home last year and have been making some upgrades which may have caused one of the water lines to break inside the wall.  As the water restoration company in Charlotte we deal with multiple situations that result in water damage cleanup being necessary and some of the things we are seeing in certain areas of the city are water restoration calls because of homes that are older being further damage due to repairs that are being done that may break a waterline and cause additional damage in a need for further repairs to the house specifically because of his age.  As we were looking for the main cause of the water damage or should we say the cords that broke the pipe we found numerous other issues that may result in the need for other water mitigation calls in Charlotte in the near future one of the things we show the customers for the condition of some of the pipes and water lines under the crawlspace of the house that may lead to further calls for water damage cleanup because of the age in addition the location of some of the water lines cold winters may cause bursting of the water lines because the pipes were not insulated In some of the areas.
