There’s nothing more concerning to a property owner / landlord then realizing that your property has water damage and it was broken into at the same time. this is what happened to one of our customers today that contacted us for water restoration and Charlotte to address water damage at his vacant rental property on Jones Street. He went to the home to make some repairs and get it ready for a new tenant when he realized that water was on and the home was broken into as the back door was pried open when he went inside there was water everywhere and multiple sections of the home seem to be caving in certain areas due to the uncertain amount of time that the water damage was taking place. The first thing he did after walking in was turning off the water but the damage was just too much and he did not know what to do so he quickly contacted us to provide him with water damage cleanup services. Once we arrive the demo that was needed to dry out the water damage was unbelievable we literally had to remove not just the floors but the sub floors in a majority of the rooms and set up containment for the dehumidifiers and fans to dry out the areas where the subfloor wasn’t removed but to get as much of the walls as dry as possible. overall this is going to be the type of water damage claim that may take about 7 or more days to dry out which is a far cry from the typical 3 days that we typically used for water restoration calls.
