A customer contacted us this this morning for water mitigation in Charlotte because after waking up they heard the sound of running water coming from the basement and after going in to take a look they found the basement was flooded house not from a typical cause such as from a storm creating water damage in the basement due to a broken water line. The basement served as a laundry room and also has a bathroom in it but the idea of this being a possible location that is vulnerable to water damage from other causes outside of rain did not seem possible to the owner. The reason the owner did not think of the possibility of water damage is because most people are not aware of the services our industry provides until they need us to provide water restoration services to dry out their house after a pipe break or leak. Because it was a basement the water did not received out of the house and just pooled in place which made for a case of a large amount of water extraction we had to provide before we can dry the house out.
