As a water restoration company in Charlotte we encounter a lot of situations with customers needing our services to clean up water damage because of an upgrade gone wrong. Commonly people like to upgrade their kitchens and bathrooms but the common factor between both a kitchen and bathroom upgrade in a home is that both supply water to a house and if not done correctly the upgrade could be the reason that you may need water restoration services at your home due to a leak or faulty installation of an appliance. this morning we received a call from a customer that was upgrading their countertops to their kitchen and they did not hire the best of contractors apparently to do the job for them from what we’re understanding the contractor was cutting the countertops some more to make the sink fit into the slot where the sink is supposed to go but in the process the contractor thinly sliced the water supply line and did not let the customer know that it happened. We actually think the contractor did not know what they did because the cabinet door was closed when they were cutting in the location of the cut was below the sink but equal to the cabinet door which means the water was as flowing and could not be seen until the contract was gone overall the customer has an extensive amount of water damage all over their kitchen all over the living room with border going up the walls damaging some of the baseboards damaging the drywall wet wet flooring wet carpet in the living room wet flooring in the kitchen with the wet tile and almost all of the cabinets have to be removed from the house now and what turned out to be a good kitchen upgrade ends up to be a situation where the only thing that is left due to the water damage we have to cleanup are the countertops that were being changed in the first place.
