As a water restoration company in Charlotte one of the questions we are frequently asked from customers is what is the primary cause for water damage cleanup for homeowners in the Charlotte area. In most cases we would advise potential clients that most of our calls for water mitigation and Charlie at least is because of a field appliance Affeld pipe accidental spills tub overflow‘s or filled water heater things of that nature. This morning a customer contacted us for water damage cleanup due to a water mitigation situation that is not common for customers in the Charlotte area. This customers water damage occurred because of a faulty design in their driveway of their new home. The customer recently purchased their home and this was the most significant rain since the house was purchased. When we arrived to address the water damage needs what we found was the water was about 2 to 3 inches high and the customers garage and receding into the house which means the more it rained the more water went underneath the walls into the customers house creating water damage to the kitchen in the living room with walls that are the same as the walls in the garage this created a situation of water damage that was almost impossible to stop because the water damage was caused from nature which simply means we can not just turn off a valve to prevent additional water damage.
