As spring time near water restoration is not on the radar of most homeowners in the Charlotte area. Most people are thinking about getting their yards together and spring cleaning but as the seasons change rain is frequently on the forecast and with the amount of rain the past few days we had a call for water damage in Charlotte because of it. Our customer called because the gutter system was draining into the home and flooding a downstairs bedroom with all weekend causing water damage to the carpet and some areas of the drywall. In most situation you would notice water coming into your home and the obvious signs of water damage but since the room was an extra bedroom it was not discovered until the carpet in the exterior hallway seemed wet. In the water mitigation field we see water damage claims from backups of all types in the pipes in the home but this was caused from a backup in the gutter caused from leaves something most homeowners would not think of as a need for water damage cleanup services.
