We received a call this afternoon for water mitigation in Charlotte from a customer in the Wilmore community with water damage due to a leaking pipe on their water heater. In our experience as a water restoration company in Charlotte most of our customers with water damage due to a leaking water heater noticed the pipe leading to the water heater or the tank itself are old and may need to be replaced. Ware and tare are a common cause for a failed water heater and a large reason for a visit from a local water restoration company to dry out any water damage that comes from it. Today’s customer may have a leaking pipe to water heater but the resulting water damage is not due to the age of the water heater or pipe but because of an accident caused by their contractor doing repairs on the house at the time. Somehow the contractor caused the water damage while cutting into a nearby wall while working on a few new editions to the home. A lot of homes in the neighborhood have been going through a lot of upgrades and improvements lately and during this process the upgrades had to stop to address the necessary services of water damage cleanup.
