As a water restoration company and Charlotte wondered of 1st things that we learn in water dam it’s clean up training is that we cannot enter a property to move forward with the water mitigation process and less assigned work authorization is in our hand. The dilemma that we faced with today’s corps for water damage clean up in Charlotte was the person that contacted us was not the owner of the property it was actually the tenant and because of this they were not able to give us permission legally to enter the home to performed water damage clean up necessary steps sense the owner was not present. Luckily we were able to notify the landlord of the property and explain the water damage situation to him as his home was flooded due to a break in his water heater while the rental property tenant was gone. The tenant explained that she ran to the store to run a couple errands in whence he returned about 2 hours later the entire home was in disarray with water coming out of the garage and into the house for that entire time soon. Once the landlord gave us permission a more forward with the water dam is clean up process the 1st thing that we did was extract as much water as possible and move forward with demolition process to get all of the wet materials out of the house in a timely manner so everything can dry the fish antly. Luckly for the homeowner he had a warranty on the water heater that was only 2 years old and it should not have broken this early causing this type of water damage. Though his insurance company is going to have to pay us for the water restoration part luckly he does not have to buy a new water heater.
