we received two calls today for emergency water restoration in Charlotte from a customer that was going through a very interesting situation of water damage while cooking. The customer advised that she was attempting to make crabs and steamed vegetables when she tried to wash the crabs off along with washing the vegetables to put into a pot the faucet broke causing water to spew all over the place and she did not know what to do. when she tried to turn off the water valve under the sink to slow down the amount of water that was pouring into the house the water valve was rusted and basically did not do what it was supposed to do so after frantically looking around the house trying to figure out what she could do to prevent the water damage she try to make it outside to the main water valve but did not know how to turn that off. eventually she looks for a water restoration company online and contacted us to provide the water damage cleanup services. We arrived within about 30 minutes the very first thing we had to do do to this extreme situation was turn off the valve at the main line and that is exactly what we did to slow down the amount of water that was coming into the home. Shortly after we contacted Statefarm her insurance company and proceeded with the water restoration process and hope to have her home dry in about three days.
