Customer called this afternoon for water restoration in Charlotte due to a failed water heater. The customer stated once he returned home from work they noticed water coming from under the garage door pouring down the driveway which was puzzling to them because they do not have a sprinkler and they were wondering where did water come from. After walking inside they realize the water heater in the utility closet was the cause of the water damage that they are noticing throughout the house. As he walked around he realize that there was a significant amount of water damage to the floors in the kitchen and the hallway of the house along with multiple areas of saturated drywall and the untility closet. After panicking for sure. The first thing they did before looking for a water mitigation company would turn the water off at the mainline the husband grabbed a pair of pliers and ran to the water meter to stop the water from coming in after a few seconds of trying to turn it he was successful in turning off the water in the house which stops the continuation of the water damage that was already taking place. Once we arrived we went straight to the water extraction and extracted the water for about an hour in the kitchen, garage, and utility room. After we finish the extraction we went forward with the rest of the water damage cleanup process by demoing the areas of the house that require demolition after that we set up the fans in the dehumidifiers and according to the water damage readings we would only need to dry the house for three days.
